What is Deuterium?

First the problem: Deuterium is one of three forms (or isotopes) of hydrogen – the others being protium and tritium. 
The nucleus (core) of a deuterium atom has one proton and one neutron which doubles the mass of the hydrogen atom, making it twice as heavy. This heavy form of hydrogen can combine with oxygen and form water, just like regular hydrogen (protium) can do, but it's function and effect on biological processes is off- balance and NOT the saem, which creates a lot of issues in DNA, enzymes, hormones and during energy production in the cells.

The level of deuterium present in most natural waters, on Earth, including inside our bodies, is in the range of 150 ppm (parts per million) or 33 milligram per litre. 

So, for every 1,000,000 atoms of hydrogen, there are 150 atoms of deuterium bound to oxygen to form water. 
Therefore when we drink 1 litre of drinking water, we ingest 150 ppm, or about 33 milligrams, of pure deuterium.

YES! Water is not JUST water. A lot of research has documented all this over the past 25 years. The negative effects on biological life and process exerted by heavy water (deuterium) is well known by now. 

HtoEau® 50 ppm water is not much different than drinking regular water or high altitude purified water. Drinking DDW ad libitum for 3 weeks restored the body-weight, glucose (serum), tryptophan (brain), and serotonin (brain) levels and concentration of Zn in the liver in the Obese animals, to those of the controls.

The high-fat diet caused an increased level of oxidative stress, which was accompanied by decreased activity of both SOD and catalase. 

In contrast, drinking DDW decreased the level of oxidative stress and enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities.
